May 18 a pair of powerful aftershocks rocked Ecuador’s coast, killing one person, injuring 85, and further damaging homes and other buildings. In Quito we were roused just before 3 a.m. by the 6.8 aftershock which went on for a minute. Another, also 6.8, struck just before noon.
An excellent blog about these aftershocks and Reach Beyond’s third medical team is on Reach Beyond’s Latin America blog, CalloftheAndes Weblog.
